Zitemp is a zinc oxide eugenol (ZOE) dental cement formulated for temporary restorative applications and thermal insulation. The powder contains zinc oxide, while the liquid contains eugenol and acetic acid, as indicated on the product packaging.
It is suitable for temporary restoration of prepared cavities and can be used as a cavity liner beneath many restorative materials. It is also indicated for temporary cementation of crowns and inlays.
The powder and liquid components are mixed chairside to obtain a workable cement consistency. The manufacturer’s product graphic specifies a mixing time of approximately 45–60 seconds and a setting time of 11–12 minutes.
